Buddy was abandoned in our neighborhood when he was approximately one year old. He was naturally distressed at this and roamed the neighborhood for some time. Several neighbors fed him during the day and another allowed him to sleep in their sunporch at night. He was eventually taken in by one neighbor, but enjoyed spending time with others who had been kind to him while he was homeless. He began to spend more and more time with us and would hide somewhere in our house when it was time leave. It was eventually agreed that he would stay with us permanently and he did so for almost fifteen years. In this photo, he has a soft blanket, a place in the warm sun and the love of two people who cared for him deeply.
A donation was made in Buddy's memory and the memorial was created on March 18, 2018.
