Patches was about 17 when it was her time, a good, long life that was due to end. We adopted her when she was about 9, with a mouth full of rotten teeth and the rat terrier temperament that she would have to her last days. Patches had doggy charisma, people in the street would stop to admire her. She had a wonderful balance of being attached but not needy, bright, energetic, and loving. Even when she was blind and deaf, she wanted to lead on hikes. Even with a heart murmur, she could go a couple miles before tiring. She was a much loved and loving companion and will be missed. My thanks to Kitty, Cleve and others who helped with walks and support. And to the folks at Broadway Vet who kept her healthy to the end, and made the end as smooth as possible.
A donation was made in Patches's memory and the memorial was created on February 21, 2020.
